Both the on premises and cloud monitoring system has been converted to LogicMonitor and thanks to that we can analyze and collect more specific data without worrying about our infrastructure cost. Also installation was easier than we imagined as the documentation to set it up was extensive and both customer service and LogicMonitor community was always available and friendly enough which accelerated the whole process. There is no other monitoring system that matches its low cost and ease of use.
  • No need to worry about the overall cost as it costs much lesser than it's competitors.
  • Has friendly community and support so whenever there is an issue, it quickly gets solved and the extensive documentation further makes the process easy to follow.
  • The tool's overall performance is great and the UI is updated frequently to fix bugs or improved user experience.
  • Further improvement is required in their mobile app. Since it has a lot of bugs which causes it to crash and start glitching.
  • Even though it can identify if there is an issue and report it, it can't automatically fix it or give the solution for the issue. So if there was such a feature, it would save us a lot of time.
  • That was all that the it needs to improve on and there are no other significant problem or improvement that it needs.
The ease with which LogicMonitor lowered administrative and infrastructure costs earned it great recognition. It lets us monitor our entire network and see what's happening with a very intuitive graphical user interface which is frequently updated to further increase it's performance. And among all of it's competitors LogicMonitor is the best and cost effective solution to use for your company.

It gives real time data and has a wide range of monitoring choices which is constantly accessible and lets you group severity alerts for abnormalities. Also their technical support is available 24/7 and their security updates are very frequent hence providing the best possible security.
  • Frequent security updates which ensures best possible protection.
  • Lets you group severity alerts for abnormalities.
  • Support is available through out the day.
  • The reporting templates are old and needs new ones.
  • The devices logged should have more info. Such as their ip address and the device name and the time when logged in.
If your application has many users, it can show you which servers have the greatest issues such as a malfunctoning CPU. And as server performance data is clear and informative. The issue can be easily fixed within a small amount of time.

We have seen a significant improvement in our response time when dealing with server related difficulties because to LogicMonitor's ability to closely monitor all important systems. And although LogicMonitor is mostly used on servers, it is also compatible with many other devices. Also a crystal-clear dashboard allowing us to maintain tabs on the most critical systems from a single location is the result of the meticulous tracking of all these events.
  • Monitoring and alerting users of network or connection changes.
  • Anomaly detection is great.
  • Real time dashboards and reports showing insights across all systems.
  • Changing the alerting settings is such a hassle and takes forever.
  • Device logging is not nearly targeted enough.
  • Pre-built alerts and templates are desperately needed.
The warnings are incredibly detailed. I think it would be incredibly helpful to have a record of what happens when an outage starts and when the status changes. Also the average customer who isn't overly concerned about the data's storage location will love LogicMonitor, but security-conscious clients may find it harder to adopt due to data not held locally.

Its been a couple years since we engaged LogicMonitor in organization. The platforms integration with cloud platforms has simplified our cloud resource management. We set up automatic scaling policies, and when our applications demand increased, LogicMonitor seamlessly expanded resources to handle the load. We have also leveraged it ability to identify issues before they impact our end users allowing us to address issues before they lead to server downtime.
  • The auto discovery capabilities have saved us countless hours. It automatically detects and monitors new devices and services when added to our network, ensuring we miss nothing critical.
  • The customizable dashboards are great
  • The forecasting tools have been instrumental in our capacity planning efforts.
  • Pricing and transparency. Shading more light into the pricing structure would be really appreciated especially by potential clients
  • The licensing is very costly.
LogicMonitor has been an incredible asset in our IT operations. Its capacity planning features have helped us optimize resource allocation. We are able to identify underutilized resources and redistribute them efficiently. We also set up automated alerts for server CPU usage. When a critical servers CPU usage exceeds a predefined threshold, LogicMonitor immediately alerts our teams.

As a managed services provider, we require the best monitoring tool to provide world-class services to our clients. The tool must be easy to deploy, maintain, and manage. The solution must also be current with the market trends and stay ahead of the ever-changing technology market. Most importantly, the user experience must be intuitive, easy to understand, and feature-rich. We deploy LogicMonitor to over 150+ clients across North America and it is the core monitoring tool we use to meet all of the requirements mentioned above and more.
  • Monitoring of on-prem, cloud, and SAAS-based solutions across hundreds of different technologies.
  • Provides notification and alerting in the event an asset is experiencing a service impacting situation
  • Real-time dashboards and reporting to see analytics across business systems
  • Because of the rapid change in technology, maintaining DataSources to the most current level can be time-consuming for staff.
  • The network discovery and mapping capabilities are not as robust when compared to other solutions
  • While it can back-up configuration files on devices, it does not have the ability to push or modify configuration files back to devices.
For any organization that is looking to consolidate monitoring tools, move away from an on-prem solution, or modernize its existing monitoring platform, LogicMonitor is a great solution. It is an excellent option for managed service providers since it offers multi-tenancy, multi-SSO, and client-facing read-only access options. LogicMonitor is a great option for organizations trying to move fast. Since it is SAAS-based, there is no complicated setup/configuration work up-front. LogicMonitor provisions the instance, and you get started!

Used to monitor device and site uptime and generate monthly metrics reports for availability. We use it to monitor our public facing websites for performance and uptime. It is also used to provide backups and change notification for all network device configurations, along with storage and analysis of syslogs.
  • The cloud based service has provided good WebUI performance for our global users.
  • Upgrades to the system and our collectors have been seamless with no downtime.
  • The anomaly detection for Windows and network logs is very nice.
  • The support team is great. I can reach out to them directly through the portal in a chat to get immediate help with any issues that come up or if I just need guidance.
  • The reporting area is very weak and has some unexpected limitations.
  • There are no network configuration management functions, such as being able to search configs for a specific setting (or lack of).
  • Licensing is very expensive compared to some other solutions we looked at.
Well suited:
1. Monitoring the usage of our global VPN (PulseSecure/Ivanti) and the web portal performance and uptime.
2. Monitoring the Cisco wireless environment so that we can track the number of users on each SSID
3. Building out alert and escalation paths for specific sites and systems to go to the correct teams through emails, text, and MS Teams messages

Less well suited:
1. Creating complex reports that fall outside of the provided templates

LogicMonitor is a fantastic NPM. We leverage it for monitoring our networking devices, cloud VMs, application servers, and storage servers in short we use LogicMonitor to monitor all of the infrastructure.
  • It captures and monitors devices down to the minute details, and accurate alerts are generated.
  • The UI is very good and modern looking
  • The site categorization looks very effectively
  • When a device is added, we enable all alerts; only the basics are enabled by default.
  • Mobile version is not good
LogicMonitor is very well suited for Medium to Large scale organizations. We can monitor a variety of devices, if any device does not report properly their support team helps us out and sometimes the engineering team also gets involved.

LogicMonitor is great for monitoring IT infrastructure and alerting about any issues. We used it as part of our managed services offered to our SMB customers. It can gather data from a wide range of products that are deployed within any IT environment. It also provides long-term data points for historical review and finding trends.
  • monitoring a wide variety of products in IT environments
  • very flexible setup for alerting
  • easy to deploy and add devices to monitor
  • can get very complex to configure thresholds properly and get data points that are of interest
  • very slow to implement updated data sources for new generations of equipment
  • pricing and contractual terms are horrible (annual renewals, automatic pricing increases, locked in device quantities) rather than billing monthly usage
  • not very SMB friendly (lots of features not needed for small environments but there's no options for cheaper, more basic licensing, geared towards larger organizations and constant grows in monitored devices)
I would not recommend it to smaller businesses or MSPs that deal with small accounts. The cost to benefit ratio is not great for those. It's usually a good fit for larger organizations that can benefit from all the features LogicMonitor offers where the price point might be acceptable.

It is currently being used by analyzing not only our core switches, but also our data centers, servers (to include VMs), and IDFs all throughout our facilities. We can find faults within our networks, view down switches, view switch configs, or any other sort of critical issues that may occur that we are not aware of. This is a key part of infrastructure as we handle various locations not only in CA but through out other areas.
  • I think the best feature is the SaaS itself. The availablity at a webpage makes things really up to speed on the ever expanding cloud platforms taking over.
  • It also doesn't boggle up the space in your email boxes sending consistent messages that aren't as critical as they should be. It simply expresses just the facts.
  • Finally the ability to oversee all operations over a single customizable window pane makes it extremely intuitive and convenient.
  • Although it can be done, setting up what devices are connected to a certain appliance or switch can be a tedious task as it is a long manual process. I would love to see this get easier over time.
  • The log monitoring can be a bit of a pain. I have heard there is talks of this getting closer to its competitors like Splunk but they are not there yet.
We would have random issues where sometimes a switch would die and we would lose configurations. With Logic Monitor, we were able to have the latest configuration changes synced and never had to worry about misconfiguration on the new switch. It saved us countless of hours of work, to include mass deployments of new equipment during a refresh.

LogicMonitor is being evaluated in our internal labs as the potential EMS and NMS solution. This is being used for Network, Server and Database Monitoring Solution. We are using LogicMonitor for other infrastructure monitoring as well such as VMWare, Cloud Services, MiddleWare, Websites etc.
Internal Monitoring team is the current users of LogicMonitor who are building out solutions for different technologies.
  • Devices and website monitoring.
  • Cloud services monitoring.
  • Alerting and dynamic threshold
  • AIOPS via alert forecasting and data usage forecasting.
  • Application Performance Monitoring (APM).
  • Devices compliance check.
  • Devices automation.
  • Reports limitation.
LogicMonitor is one stop solution for you entire IT infrastructure except Application Performance Monitoring space. if you want to monitor APM stuff then this is not the right tool. It can also do Cloud Services monitoring for AWS, GCP, Azure. You can also do Selenium based synthetic monitoring via LogicMonitor apart from basic devices fault and performance monitoring.

We use LogicMonitor to monitor a variety of deployments at our client sites without requiring an intrusive collector to be installed or allowing us to monitor resources that don't allow for a collector to be installed (networking equipment, etc.)
  • Collector based monitoring
  • Monitoring a wide variety of sources
  • Easy customization and integration with platforms that aren't supported out of the box
  • The UI is undergoing an overhaul, so it can cause a disjointed experience while it's being updated
  • Collector can occasionally crash, and we don't always get notifications that something has died
  • Application of monitoring profiles isn't the most intuitive
LogicMonitor is a great solution for being able to monitor a wide variety of devices and applications. Being able to combine hardware metrics with application logs is also great for being able to nail down a root cause for any increased activity. LogicMonitor works better for monitoring of Linux based devices rather than windows devices. This is due in large part due to underlying technologies, but using SNMP on Windows isn't widely supported on LogicMonitor, requiring local admin user accounts on windows monitored devices.

To monitor VMWare v Cloud Directory Property Source and Data Source, HPE StoreOne Logic Module Review. Overall, the main scope of the project is to implement the security reviews, User Access, Environment Import, Monitoring Enablement, Visualisation, and Reporting with the assistance of LogicMonitor to deploy the software. There have been instances in the past where it has taken up a lot of manual effort to discover where the issues lie. Sometimes this has taken weeks to identify and resolve. With LogicMonitor, we have managed to identify and resolve the same issues within 2 hours, which ultimately has saved the organisation time, effort, resource,s and money.
  • Onboarding Process
  • Technical Support
  • Project Planning
  • Transparency throughout the implementation
  • Calling to resolve queries rather than using email / mavenlink
I think LogicMonitor has helped our company throughout most, if not all, departments. It is specifically well suited for the technology department to monitor and identify issues to be resolved. However, this has also helped us internally look at our escalation processes and business continuity. We have recommended LogicMonitor to many of our clients who will now be using Logic Monitor as a service on our platform. This helps transparency and trust between us and our client also.

We use LogicMonitor to monitor/alert the status of our client's network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless APs, servers, etc.) We also use it to SSH into client network devices without having to remote into an internal network resource prior. LogicMonitor allows us to monitor almost any type of datapoint you would wish to monitor. It gives so much flexibility and allows for a mass amount of information all in one place. It also allows our business to generate user-friendly reports that we can forward to clients.
  • Generate client-facing reports
  • Flexibility on monitoring and alerting
  • Generate graphs from raw data
  • GUI can look overwhelming
  • Easier time browsing through folders
  • More support documents
Overall, LogicMonitor provides an abundant amount of resources for monitoring/alerting client devices. However, with all the flexibility that is given, it can be overwhelming with so much information at hand, and the GUI is not as user-friendly. You pretty much need to know what you are looking for and what the datasource means to understand what an alert is asking of you. You also need to be very well-versed in scripting since a lot of the datapoints you probably want to create a monitor or alert for will need to be customized.

we use it to monitor our corp IT network as well as our venue technology stack. In our venues, it is important to be able to see problems as soon as they arise and this tool allows us to act quickly in conjunction with our other IT Ops tools to remediate the problem.
  • auto configuring alerts
  • consolidating information
  • being user friendly
  • making figuring out how to tune alerts easier
It is great for IT network operations but our DevOps team and their container-based infrastructure fid it to be too expensive for their needs when they can simply use open source tools like Grafana to get the job done.

LogicMonitor is one of the main monitoring tools used to monitor resource effectively. <br>LogicMonitor takes an agentless approach which cuts down on setup time and customer resources. LogicMonitor has helped overcome outdated monitoring solutions and as it is a SaaS approach thew updates and Maintenace is handles by LogicMonitor themselves saving on infrastructure costs to the business.
  • Agentless Monitoring
  • Has an API for automation
  • Easy to use
  • Dashboards and widgets
  • Not very per customer tenant
  • No Dark mode
LogicMonitor is very useful for the typical customer who isn't too mithered about where the data is stored, this makes security concerned customers harder to deploy as data not hosted locally can be an issue.

The way some of the settings work can cause annoyance such as the way things get updated.

LogicMonitor is really good at monitoring there is a vast wide range of supported device types and if that isn't enough you can make your own and even share them with the community/.

We use it for monitoring majority of our systems. The biggest advantage is fast adaptation compared to some other monitoring tools.
  • Easy to use thanks to the modern user interface.
  • Very little technical troubleshooting needed. Everything just works.
  • Monitored data is stored up to two years.
  • Mass editing.
  • No dark theme.
  • Mobile app could be better.
LogicMonitor is a perfect tool for sysadmins who don't want to spend any time on developing the monitoring tool, but rather just to use it. LogicMonitor is not a RMM tool so fixing the alerts will require some extra effort.

We use LogicMonitor for infrastructure monitoring and alerting (Server infrastructure and VMs, Networking infrastructure, Websites). It is used by multiple groups within our IT department (Systems Engineers, Support Technicians, DevOps Engineers, Cybersecurity Engineers). The primary business problem that it addresses is ensuring systems uptime by generating alerts on metrics that could indicate issues/problems. One of the other primary uses is for metrics monitoring and reporting over time.
  • Very good 'out of the box' metrics and thresholds for alerting (often no fine-tuning needed).
  • LogicModules provide abilities to monitor a wide variety of systems/software.
  • Ability to write your own LogicModules or scripting to collect custom metrics.
  • Sometimes difficult to understand how/why alerts get generated due to the relationship between thresholds (sometimes defined at different levels), alert rules, and escalation chains.
  • Some aspects of the user interface/layout aren't always completely intuitive.
LogicMonitor is very well suited for overall infrastructure monitoring with the ability to collect metrics at multiple levels (physical resources, virtualized resources, and guest OS/Application levels). The alerting is pretty easy to set up with 'out of the box' alert thresholds and offers very granular options to customize to your needs.

LogicMonitor provides us with valuable insight into the operational status of the university's technology assets, whether those are on-premises network connectivity, hypervisors and servers or Cloud-delivered compute and storage. We try to leverage the observability LogicMonitor delivers to proactively ensure that technology-dependent business functions are supplied effectively. We rely on LogicMonitor's alerting capabilities to inform us when operations are not performing as expected.
  • LogicMonitor supports a wide range of technology products and services
  • LogicMonitor's reliability has been far higher, and its administrative burden far lower than previous generations of on-premises products that attempt to provide similar functionality
  • LogicMonitor has well-developed out-of-the-box alert thresholds and very effective and flexible notification delivery options
  • LogicMonitor itself is relatively easy to install (note: that does not mean installations need no planning!)
  • LogicMonitor iterates existing features and adds new functionality quickly so it can be hard to keep pace as a customer; particularly if your use case does not demand movement at the same pace.
  • It would be valuable if LogicMonitor was able to find a way to license its various capabilities (LM-Cloud, -Logs, -Services, -Config) that allowed them to be adopted with a more a la carte and/or transient term approach.
LogicMonitor is extremely effective in use-cases like ours where there is not a team dedicated to IT monitoring and alerting. We have so few of us that we simply can't afford to spend time "holding a product's hands" just to keep it working. LogicMonitor works reliably and effectively for us with minimal levels of administrative overhead. One scenario where LogicMonitor may not be appropriate would be where there is a large amount of on-premises connectivity and security infrastructure but not any on-premises storage infrastructure.

We use LogicMonitor to monitor all physical devices and virtual instances that we provide to customers and also use internally. LogicMonitor is used to screen hundreds of locations for UP/DOWN, performance issues in infrastructure (servers, network), a misconfiguration in infrastructure, and related. It feeds a ticketing system (ConnectWise Manage in this case). It generates alerts on emergency conditions by email and text to the appropriate teams.
  • Alert on outages of power and Internet (site availability)
  • Alert on VMware and Microsoft server configuration or performance issues
  • Alert on website outages
  • Needs better out of the box alerting / templates
  • Generates too many repetitive tickets in ConnectWise Manage (working with their support to resolve)
  • Admin portal user interface could be simplified and improved
  • Takes time to fine tune / dial in the alerting
  • Mapping feature is poorly executed (concept is to build a real-time network map)
  • LogicMonitor is well suited for MSP or internal IT to monitor alerts on VMware, server, infrastructure, Internet, power, and website outages/performance issues/misconfiguration.
  • It can alert by email, TXT, and integration with common APIs.
  • It is reasonably priced. It is an effective NOC tool.
  • LogicMonitor is not well suited to organizations that will not invest the time to customize the alerts, dial in the settings, and of course, respond to the alerts. We have hundreds of sites and LogicMonitor is roughly 1/2 FTE (almost half of an employee's time).
  • LogicMonitor is not ideal for all cloud scenarios - it is driven but a collector that runs on a given Windows or Linux host. The collector is reliable, but it is "self-hosted" at each site. The central portal is SaaS cloud managed by LogicMonitor.
  • LogicMonitor is not a cybersecurity product, although it can help identify performance or misconfigurations.

We use LogicMonitor for both internal uses, within our Hosting and cloud environments. The two largest benefits we have seen are Time to deployment and Technical Support. Our company often acquires other companies. With LogicMonitor I can have them added to our monitoring solution literally within 1 day. If I do run into any issues, the 24x7 availability to get an engineer on chat is great and they resolve my issues 95% of the time without the need to escalate the case.
  • Rapid Deployment
  • Out of the box threasholds
  • Auto detecting Server/services that need to be monitored with little or no manual configuration
  • LMLogs is a new feature they are working on that lets you correlate event logs with alerts. Great idea but they still have a little ways to go to make it user-friendly.
  • Reporting needs some work. Especially around configuration reporting.
If you want to be able to roll out monitoring and do not want to manually have to specify each item to be monitored, wasting days or weeks then you really should look at LogicMonitor. On top of that, LogicMonitor is very customizable allowing you to create custom data sources to be monitored. LogicMonitor is not an APM, though I hear that is coming out very soon.

We used LogicMonitor to manage a customer's network as part of a managed services engagement. The client was in manufacturing and had eight global locations.
  • Generate Alerts to Support Team.
  • Support Multiple Types of Equipment.
  • Provided ability to verify status.
  • Required more senior technical knowledge to set up and manage.
  • Not friendly from an outside MSP business arrangement standpoint (scalability) of licenses, etc).
  • Lack of ability to integrate with common MSP tools (E.g. PSA, documentation platform).
The product did what it was was supposed to do. However, it is more suited to large enterprises with dedicated IT staff. We would not recommend the product to someone in the MSP space. We have found that tools like Auvik are easier to learn, most cost-effective, are friendly from a licensing standpoint, and integrate well with common tools like a PSA/RMM platform. We have found that Auvik was able to provide superior performance to LogicMonitor and a more attractive price point (as an MSP).

LogicMonitor as a monitoring tool can help us understand where the problem is. We can address outstanding tickets through our email support. It is also used to generate availability reports and usage reports for our managers and general managers. Thanks to this, we can have our physical and virtual infrastructure at its best performance.
  • A great platform that allows you to set up and collect actionable data in minutes.
  • It has a very intuitive user interface, is cloud-based, and does not require much maintenance.
  • Its control panel is straightforward to customize and adapt.
  • To make the application easier to use, if you don't find what you need, you can create your modules, as its panel can generate them and display them on the monitor in a few clicks.
  • Device logging should be more specific.
  • Add more straightforward options to monitor logs.
LogicMonitor is a relatively easy platform to implement in any company; it does not require the supervision of agents at the endpoints of its implementation; it has support that will help you in every detail you need. It is very suitable for large and medium environments; you can monitor the most modern computer systems with very flexible and complete tools and options.

  • Netflow Metrics
  • Configuration Change Comparison
  • Could use more reporting options
  • Waiting on the addition of BGP neighbors in mapping
  • New UI rollout is taking a while
This has been a wonderful replacement for SolarWinds. The GUI is more user-friendly and the dashboards present eye-pleasing graphics for those who come by and see them up on displays. The flexibility of the alerts and escalation chains is definitely a plus. This has allowed us to tailor alerts for each of our division's needs.
